FINGY
“CLUB ETiQUETTE is a movement based think piece-an (im)moral framework to how one conceptualizes, approaches, and exists within the club. This mixtape produced by FINGY, is a dynamic collection of dance tracks, each infused with the dynamic sounds of North and South American artists who are shaping and redefining club culture.”
Natalie Finfer, aka FINGY, a Los Angeles raised and Chicago based DJ, recently released their long awaited mixtape, CLUB ETiQUETTE. Featuring songs such as LONDON, I AM GAY, and JUMP, this mixtape takes listeners on an expressive journey bound to keep you on the dance floor.
Beginning their musical exploration around the age of 13, originally adopting the stage name “DJ Fingerbeats” in high school and eventually graduating to become a fully fledged Chicago DJ, FINGY knows what it means to be persistent while also leaving room for the fun that artistic creation is meant to exude.
With CLUB ETiQUETTE was a major return to the roots of what makes the club, the club. How can we respect this sacred space? How can we preserve a shared sense of responsibility to maintain it?
“CLUB ETiQUETTE’s visual identity is being captured through the eyes, items, and bodies of the people currently creating the culture. Every model is a Chicago based DJ/producer that has their own hand and hearts within the community. While the music sonically nods at the greats, the visuals are nodding at specific creatives rooted in Chicago’s current club scene.”
FINGY took CLUB ETiQUETTE on a tour through Chicago, New York City and Los Angeles, with the Los Angeles event being represented in this issue.
